Pete share's his music at a service in the Shelter Neck Chapel
Pete was a printer, singer-songwriter, devoted UU, past president and longtime trustee of the UCONCI board, Shelter Neck Committee past chair, SWIMM Board member, long time SUUSI participant, and a past officer in the NC Songwriter's Guild. It was Pete Leary who went around the country singing to raise the money needed to restore the Shelter Neck UU Camp buildings after the flood damage from Hurricane Floyd. He raised close to $65,000 to toward this restoration, and then supervised or performed much of the work. For his devotion, he received the regional UU District's honor of "Unsung Hero". Pete will be remembered for his generosity, his talent, and his sense of humor. His death of a heart attack was sudden and unexpected.
